LAMDA FOODS S.A. is the main distributor of “Monastery of Ormylia” which produces Chalkidiki olives with the traditional method. The olives are picked one by one by hand and placed in tanks with brine in order to maintain and take away bitterness slowly. The entire process takes at least nine months after harvesting.
Since 1976, at the Sacred Convent of Annunciation in Ormylia (Dependency of Mount Athos “Simonos Petra” Monastery), one hundred twenty nuns cultivate the privately owned olive groves, the famous “Chalkidiki olives”, according the practices of integrated management and organic farming.
The fruit is harvested at the right time late in September and processed in a traditional way without chemical treatment, ensuring excellent product quality.
